Question #1:

If you lose one side of an earring can you get it replaced with the same one?

Hi my nephew bit my earring out my ear and i cant find it. Anyway can i get the same one put in the ear with the lost earring.

Ear piercing pimple? Help please?

So I saw some crustys (I guess that's what that was. It was just a little build up, nothing bad) in one of my ear piercings that is not sensitive to silver. In my other ear, however, there was like a pimple IN the hole... and it popped ('cause I was trying to clean my earring holes). But this ear this sensitive to my (real) silver earrings. After it popped I got some rubbing alcohol to clean it. I don't want to take my earring out because I don't want it to close and it hurts when I put the earring back in D:

Should I just let my piercings close? Change to gold? Or can I overcome the sensitivity somehow?
EDIT- Should I wait until the lump is gone and my hole is clean to change to gold as well?

Im having a lot of trouble removing the backs of my earrings and I would like to know the way that is the simplest and causes the least amount of pain to remove these earrings. What do I do? PLEASE ANSWER!

ok so uk those starter earrings when u first get ur ears peirced? well my sis stuffed them in my ear even though it had the needle in the back and its been hurting and sore ever since even when i put in a different earring. the first night it was itchy red and hot but now its just sore.. how do i fix this? is it an infectin?

i just pierced it with a thumb tack idc how this sounds i cleaned it and it a new tumb tack never been used but its about the size of a 14 gauge winch is the size of the ring i have thats why i used it how long do you think i should wait to switch the needle im scared to take it out bcuz the hole might close im currently holding the other end of the thumb tack w/ a rubber earring back so it can stay in for quit a while. should i switch the ring now or would it be better if i wait, and if i should wait how long shout it be for btw Ive pierced all my piercings myself expect my first earring holes and my navel which i tried but it didn't come out well so i got it professionally done i have both cartilages my basic tongue 2nd and 3rd earring hole and thats it so Ive done this before

i had my cartilage pierced 6months ago it bled and i have a keloid?

right so i had my cartilage pierced on 20th march 2010 and well its been fine up untill i found a bump on the back of my ear i searched it on internet and told me i had a keloid i went back to where i had it pierced so they could look at it and they said its gathered a keloid in which i took it out because i cleaned it after 4-5months and well it was quite alot swollen :( i take it out every now and then to clean it properly i just litterly took it out and i use a cottonbud and seasalt in luke warm water and put a lid of tcp in it for the first time and on the cotton bud there was blood :/ not much but some a couple of times ive had to pierce through the frount of it bcus i cant find the whole shall i just clean around it and not take it out ? im using my own earring atm back to frount because it will dig in and the ball on the one i had it pierced with went missing :( so i used my own sometimes it hurts and sometimes it doesnt sometimes i can sleep on it sometimes i cant :( what do i do Much help needed so worried xxxx
ive gotta be careful with hoops cus of school and they told me to put a paste on it of seasalt and water like make it pastey so i did and its swelling went down and the keloid abit and ill be sure to keep it in now i was just so worried thank you for the help \:

Okay, so I've had my ears pierced for about eight years. A few days ago I put in one on those cheap-o pairs of forever 21 earrings, and then I think two or three days later my right ear got really infected. It kind of got all hard and puffy around the hole and there was a little white stuff and like, one drop of blood when I took the earring out.I think maybe I just put it in too tight, so I put on lots of that Claire's antiseptic stuff I got when I got my doubles a few weeks ago, I wore dangling earrings all day, but when I took it out it bleed a tiny bit and I don't think it got any better. Just now I put in some little diamond studs because I don't want my ear to close up. What do I do? Thanks so much!

i pierced my cartilage (in my left ear) on my own about 2-3 days ago. i used a very well sanitized post earring and my ear is still very hot and throbbing. is that ok? i don't think its an infection, but how much longer will pain last?

I have six girls and this was what I was planning on giving them. I am giving different gifts to each of them but giving them the gifts at separate times so there is no jealousy. Even though I don't think there would be jealousy because i'm trying to get something that is her personality.
One girl is really country but glam at the same time I was thinking of getting her horse shoe earrings that have studs on them and some lip gloss that she loves. One girl is really into movies so I was going to get her a basket with candies popcorn and her favorite movie that she doesn't have. One is really into scrap book things so I was going to get her a few scrapbook items. One just moved into an apartment and loves to cook so i was going to get her an apron or a cookbook with some cookie or other mix. For my maid of honor she is a partier so i found this super cute personalized margarita set or I was going to make her a basket with jewelry, makeup or silk pajamas or something like that:] I also thought of getting a designer purse from ross or TJMaxx(brand new but only cost about $50) For my last girl she is really into snowboarding but I don't want to get her anything she wont like, use or something she already has. Are there any certain items that a snowboarder always uses or maybe just another idea? I was also probably going to make them all a card with sentimental written stuff:] would that be okay?

How do I know if I am having an allergic reaction to silver (earrings)?

I'm not sure if I am b/c my aunt said the redness was just from pushing the back to close to my ear. My ear is itchy, red, has liquid coming out, and develops this like crunchy yellow stuff.

How old do you have to be to get your ears pierced without a parent in NY?

I'd probably go to a Piercing Pagoda or something similar; I heard that I shouldn't go to Claire's because they don't clean their supplies well and they often pierce unevenly. I'm 17, and I would be allowed to keep in my earrings, but my parents hate piercings so they wouldn't go with me to get it. If there was a consent form, I could also probably get my mom or dad to sign it. Will I be able to go with a friend to get them pierced?
Also, this would be my first piercing, and I'd just get a normal set, one on each earlobe. Does it hurt?

Sophie got her ears pierced this weekend( for her 2nd bday coming up). She did great, hardly cried and hasn't really even touched the earrings. I've cleaned them as directed and they look great. However, last night, the right earring got snagged on a lose thread and popped out. I cleaned the earring and her ear and reinserted the earring. She was fine. I cleaned the ear one more time. It didn't look red or irritated or swollen. About 3am she came to our room last night-which she never does. She had a high fever. Probably 102-103. I immediately looked at her ear and it seems fine. She's not pulling at it, she's not saying it hurts, it's not read, swollen, streaky. It looks perfectly normal. I'm wondering if perhaps it is infected? Or, she has picked up a virus that's just coincidentally the same time this happened? Her cousin was here all weekend and he's getting over something-the MD wasn't sure what it was but gave him antibiotics anyway. He had been on antibiotics for 3 days by the time he got here....

I've looked at the ear again this morning and it looks fine. I've had my ears pierced since I could remember and have had 2 or 3 holes at one time, so I've had my fair share of infections. But the ear was always swollen, red, irritated, draining pus... Her ear looks fine.

So, coincidental virus or ear infection with no outward signs of infections?

PS: She's had a runny nose all week but has been taking her zyrtec for it....

Please, don't leave a rude answer. I really, can NOT take it today. Please.
Thanks Holly! I'm sitting here trying not to cry. It was something I always wanted to do, I had no idea there was this huge debate in the world about this! I just thought it was so sweet to see little girls with their ears piecred. My whole family came, it was a special moment that we all wanted to remember. Bonnie: thanks for the articles. I'm sorry, I should have said it was seasonal allergies, not a virus or anything. We all suffer horribly from them. I never even thought about her allergies compromising her immune system though! Thanks!

I'm going to be wearing a cute ruffled shirt that has yellow, beige and brown patterns on it, a soft yellow cardigan and a loose brown cotton skirt. Under the shirt I'm going to be wearing a white tank top and since the shirt is sort of short, it will show from under :)
Do you think it's cute or is it too matchy? I would really like your opinion and also suggestions on what earrings, makeup and jewelry would look good with it. I'm going to be wearing brown leather gladiators and a charm anklet.

I'm starting 8th grade soon and I need help with my first day of school outfit. It's going to be almost 90 degrees out, so I don't think I should wear long jeans.

What about my hair? Its about medium length, dark brown and straight, with brown eyes. I usually just put a headband on. Is this outfit too casual? What should I change? Opinions please! :)
